1. Word / Phrase: Girth

Meaning
: a band that passes underneath a horse or other animal to hold a saddle in place, esp. one having a buckle at each end for fastening to straps running from under the flaps of the saddle.

Context
: When I got the sattle on the pony, Chelsea told me to get the girth to secure the sattle. After riding a horse you shpuld losen it.

2. Word / Phrase: Mare

Meaning
: a fully mature female horse or other equine animal.

Context
: Ben was asking the people who came to have a lesson how a female horse is called. I said that it is called a "Horsie" xD..Then he told us that it is mare.

3.Word/Phrase:Foal

Meaning
:a young horse, mule, or related animal, esp. one that is not yet one year of age.

Context
: I found it online.

4. Word / Phrase: Lasso

Meaning: a long rope or line of hide or other material with a running noose at one end, used for roping horses, cattle, etc.

Context
: Mr Andrew was asking me if I knew what lasso is and I said that I did and made a circular motion above my head. Well I wrote it here after because I didnt know what other words to write.

5. Word / Phrase: Stallion

Meaning
:
  • an uncastrated adult male horse, esp. one used for breeding.
  • An adult male horse that has not been castrated, especially one kept for breeding.

Context: My friend helped me out with this. Also I remember how Ben was also talking about this.

6.Word/Phrase:Farrier

Meaning
:One who shoes horses/a person who shoes horses

Context
:Ones when I was on my internship farriers came to show horses.

7.Word/Phrase:Canter

Meaning:
  • A smooth gait, especially of a horse, that is slower than a gallop but faster than a trot.
  • an easy gallop.

Context:"The four basic paces of a horse are: walk, trot, canter and gallop. "

8.Word/Phrase:Bridle

Meaning:part of the tack or harness of a horse, consisting usually of a headstall, bit, and reins.

Context:Thats how you control the horse when you are riding it. (With the help of the bridle)
